Wolves split with Wooster

Wooster OH-   The Lansing Wolves travelled to Wooster Ohio for a 2 game series against the Oilers. The Wolves came away with a split.

The Wolves won the first game on Saturday 3-1.  Garrett Weyh (South Lyon, MI) lead the offence with 2 goals. Noah Pipper (Okemos, MI) chipped in a goal and added 2 assists. Jake Redman (Marshall, MI) also helped with a couple of assists.

Will Ignatovich secured the victory with 47saves on 48 shots.

“It was Woosters home opener and they came out flying, I thought we did a good job matching that intensity and the line of Pipper, Weyh and Deratany stepped it up offensively.” said coach Lawrence.

Sundays game was another close one but Wooster came out with the victory.  “Tonight we didn’t play disciplined enough and penalties hurt us.” Said coach Tulik.

The lone goal for the Wolves came from defenceman Mac Diver (Clarkston, MI) with the only assist going to Jake Redman.

The Wolves will play another home and home series with rivals Toledo Cherokee. The first game is Friday September 22 at the Summit Sports and Ice complex and then the Wolves travel Saturday to Toledo for another away home opener.
