The Lansing Wolves' offense had a big night, peppering the Toledo Cherokee with 38 shots throughout the game, to go along with Sean Finstrom's shutout. The Lansing Wolves took the lead late in the first on a goal from Jacob Deratany and never looked back.
Jacob Deratany did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Mike Forman chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the first period, Deratany opened the scoring for the Wolves with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 15:00 with helpers from his linemates, Pipper and Sill.
In the second, Sill put in a goal at 7:41 with helpers from his linemates, Ross and Pipper. Ashley netted a goal at 9:47 with assists from Weaver and Deratany. Smith scored a goal at 19:06 with an assist from his teammate Forman.
During the third period, Forman deposited a goal at 8:52 with helpers from his linemates, Ashley and Smith. Redman put in a goal at 17:15 with a helper from Sill.
Lansing’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Finstrom’s shutout, as he stopped all 36 of the shots he faced. Finstrom’s counterpart, Gonzalez, also had a big night, managing to stop 25 of 29, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Lansing Wolves’ record to (24-16-1-3).
