The Lansing Wolves' offense had a big night, peppering the Peoria Mustangs with 30 shots throughout the game. The Lansing Wolves took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Brandon Ashley.
Bear Ross delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Jacob Redman had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 assists.
In the first period, Ross opened the scoring for Lansing with a goal at 17:44 with helpers from Redman and Pipper.
In the second, Echelbarger netted a goal at 6:16 with helpers from his teammates Ross and Diver. Ashley deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 8:35 with assists from Smith and Redman. Zowin finally put Peoria on the board with a goal at 13:17 with helpers from Hay and Healy.
In the third period, Layne scored a goal at 12:42 with assists from Mickel and Straker. Forman answered for the Wolves with a goal at 19:20 with helpers from Smith and Osinski.
Lansing’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Finstrom as he stopped 24 of the 26 shots he faced. Finstrom’s counterpart, Gardner, also had a big night, managing to stop 26 of 30, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Lansing Wolves’ record to (22-15-1-2).
