Smith's hat trick helped the Wolves crush the Cherokee 8-0

Brendan Smith led the way with a hat trick as the Lansing Wolves crushed the Toledo Cherokee 8-0 in a home game at The Summit Sports & Ice Complex in Lansing. Also, the Lansing Wolves' offense had a big night, peppering Toledo with 44 shots throughout the game, to go along with Sean Finstrom's shutout. The Lansing Wolves took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Brendan Smith and never looked back.

Bear Ross delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Jacob Redman did his part, adding 2 assists.

During the first, Smith opened the scoring for the Wolves with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 9:14 with helpers from his teammates Forman and Diver. Smith put in a goal at 19:07 with helpers from Ashley and Redman.

In the second, Ross scored a goal at 2:11 with assists from Zucker and Diver.

In the third period, Smith deposited a goal at 5:34 with assists from Forman and Redman. Deratany quickly followed with a goal at 6:26 with helpers from his linemates, Zucker and Ross. Davenport netted a goal at 13:29 with assists from Smith and Forman. Siewertsen quickly followed with a goal at 14:57 with helpers from Stensland and Finstrom. Fitch quickly followed with a goal at 15:08 with assists from his linemates, Echelbarger and Sill.

Lansing’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Finstrom’s shutout, as he stopped all 16 of the shots he faced. Finstrom’s counterpart, Brouillette, also had a big night, managing to stop 36 of 44, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Lansing Wolves’ record to (25-16-1-3).
