Lansing Wolves Defeat Toledo Cherokee


The Lansing Wolves scored a win in Toledo on Saturday night against the Cherokee by a 4-3 count. The Wolves onslaught in the first period was thrilling to watch as they threw 20 solid shots on goal at the home team’s net minder. Leading the scoring offensive was Macomb Michigan native, Jake Deratany, with a solid goal and adding an assist on the power play. The Wolves were ably aided by power play tallies from Mac Diver and Cameron Zucker. Adding to the mix was Justin Sill with a solid 2 assist effort. Perhaps the biggest goal scored to date was a great effort from Lansing’s own Michael Schramm. The Wolves also received assists from leading scorer Okemos native Noah Pipper, Cummins, Georgia Bear Ross, South Lyon’s Garrett Weyh and Dimondale’s Ryan Weaver. Wolves’ net minder Novi Michigan’s Sean Finstrom was solid in a fine 30 save effort.

The Wolves embark starting on Friday a huge weekend starting with a 7:30 PM puck drop against the always tough Metro Jets at The Summit Sports and Ice Complex. The Wolves have a quick two-day road trip in Peoria, Illinois, playing an out-of-division opponent The Mustangs. Games are at 6:45 PM Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 PM.
