The Lansing Wolves proud member NA3HL are pleased to announce the signings of 2 excellent young goalies. These young guns were noticed and in no small part solidified their status with the spring work they exhibited with the Elite Brigade hockey program ran by Chris Slater.
The first young man is Will Ignatovich. The Byron Center backstop played last year on his High School squad. Will acquitted his self more than admirably trying out for Team Michigan. The 6’3 185 pounder 1999 year birthdate played flawlessly. While that was happening he solidified the thought he could be a significant add to the Wolves. Will stated recently “I will not let Coach Lawrence down, not only will I work hard but be coachable”. With Will’s goals of playing at next level opportunities we see a bright future with his hockey life. Being an All Stater for his High School squad he more than fills the criteria. Coach Lawrence notes “Will impressed us at our camp and we believe he will get nothing but better”
The 2nd backstop is Drake Deering. Drake played for the very successful Grand Rapids Forest Hill Central High School squad where he also excelled. The 6’2 175 netminder made a great impression filling in last year for practices with the Wolves when the injury bug hit. Coach Lawrence notes “Drake displayed the 1 thing we absolutely want in our netminders, work ethic with attention to details”. Drake has very achievable goals also of moving to the college route. The scouting staff notes “Drake comes in with a chip on his shoulder” being highly recommended by his goalie coach the well respected Dave DeSander, current goalie coach with the Muskegon Lumberjacks USHL a great friend to the program certainly adds to the resume. He also performed flawlessly with the Brigade squad winning the league title.
The Wolves are excited and thrilled to welcome both The Ignatovich and Deering families to the fold.
